Only a few hours after the first 777 Championship Wrestling press conference, we have word of the first signing to the company, as well as a brand new wrinkle to the promotion. Here is a transcript of Quentin Ohmega's announcement:
"I am pleased to announce to the world the very first signing to my company, 777 Championship Wrestling. He is a mysterious masked powerhouse from Japan called only Truman. His deal was brokered by his lovely manager, Amy Atom. I will be open, honest, and clear, she did not like my proposal. She did not like my contracts. Until I explained what I was doing. And I'll do so now.
Every wrestler working for 777 Championship Wrestling will be signed to a one-year contract with an annual salary of ... $0.00.
That's right. Every wrestler is guaranteed NO money. This is going to be a REAL sport, with REAL money, where everyone has to earn their keep. Every win earns a wrestler money. Every advantage they want in a future match will cost them money. Every time they break the rules, it will cost them money. But, if they win, and continue to win, and continue to succeed, they will be walking out of their one-year contract with a lot of cash. Go big or go home, high risk and high reward, all here in 777 Championship Wrestling. Thank you."
This turn of events is one for the record books, and something that has never been done. It also makes the $1,000,000 Gold Rush tournament make a lot more sense. There is a lot going on down here in Las Vegas. More as we hear it.
