Hey everybody, and welcome to
What is 777? It is a new federation where real sport matters, where wins and losses matter, and where big money can be made, LIVE in the brand new 777 Casino and Arena.

How will this e-fed work? Because we all have limited time, I want this to be a fun place to unwind and roleplay as great wrestling characters in a place where competition really matters. The worst thing about most e-feds is that the winners and losers are picked based on the subjective scorings of some judges on promos. It is an inherently unfair system, because no matter what, it is an evaluation of someone’s time and effort in writing, and ultimately leads to hurt feelings and unhappiness. It also puts a huge amount of stress on the judges.
On top of that, writing and editing a full show can take 4 hours every show the night before it “airs” if you put as much work into it as I always pride myself in doing, and I just do not have the time to do that. So I came up with a solution!
I will be using Pro Wrestling Nexus, a match simulator, to determine the outcomes of every match EXCEPT for PPV matches. PPVs will be hand written, and evaluated based on all of the promos and RPs the roster did in the month or so leading up to that PPV. The program is free to use, so feel free to download it and check it out how the thing works, I’ve really come to love it.
While it isn’t a perfect solution, it is one that gives me more time to write bigger and better PPVs, as well as create a new and interesting RNG-based process to determines wins and losses leading to those PPVs, which will give us an unpredictable foundation for feuds and RPs.
How many characters can you have? You can create and add to the roster as many characters as you want. BUT ... if a character does not have a promo up in a week, they will job out if they are currently booked for a show, and not be booked in the future if it becomes habitual.
What can my character be? I have a few simple rules:
1) You cannot be a previously existing wrestler. All original characters, please.
2) You CAN be a previously existing original character.
3) You MUST fill out the roster form as presented on this message board. Do not leave any part blank. I need this for the program and to write the shows.
4) You SHOULD NOT be too ridiculous. What is “too ridiculous”? That is based on my taste as the showrunner and admin. I have a lot of tolerance, but will not allow just anything. My rule of thumb is that if I can see that gimmick working on TNA, Lucha Underground, ROH, NXT, or the WWE, then I’ll probably be good.
What is expected of me? Every month or so, there will be a PPV Card. It will have every active wrestler booked on it somewhere. Then, for each week, there will be an episode of the television show for 777 Championship Wrestling, Jackpot. Jackpot may have a card, or a partial card posted.
Your job is to put up at least 1 promo in the PROMO section for the week. You can make it about anything you want, calling out other wrestlers, setting up angles, referencing the past, fluff pieces, or working towards the PPV goal. There is not an upper limit to promos, but know that QUANTITY =/= QUALITY, and PPVs will be based on a whole MONTHS worth of promos.
I will build cards based on storyline booking, wins-losses, and promos. And I am super willing to listen to any ideas you have for your character. In fact, I prefer to have you share me those!
What is expected of a “promo”? This is a written story in character about your wrestler. You can make it about whatever you want it to be, and use any character you’d want to use from the provided 777 NPC roster. Each week, an episode will be posted with a card of some kind. In that thread, post any promos you have for that week in that thread. You have until that Thursday at NOON EST to get a promo in for that episode, or your character(s) will job out. The entire episode will be posted around 8pm EST the next Friday for you to read, and the thread will be locked. A new thread for the next episode of Jackpot will be made at the same time, with a new card. With the use of the Pro Wrestling Nexus program to create the outcomes of Jackpot episodes, we should be able to have a show every week, with a PPV replacing Jackpot every fourth or fifth show. This schedule is certainly possible to change as time permits.
You are allowed to use PC roster characters as well, with limitation. Don’t make another PC character look foolish or like a loser. If you provide dialogue, do your best to make their dialogue sound like previous promos from that character. And always ask permission.
If you are asked permission, you are not obligated to give it. Be warned, if you continually and habitually refuse permission, people will probably see you as a whiner, and will want to work with you less. This is a collaborative storytelling effort for a bunch of wrestling fans.
There will be other areas for roleplaying as well, including a freeform “Performance Center” where you can just show up and start being in character and interact with people if you like, and “Dirt Sheets” so that you can put up fake news about your wrestlers, I can put up fake news about shows, and other such nonsense.
If you have other questions, go ahead and ask them here, because ... why not?
