Miss Jessica Redd sipped her tea quietly in her darkened office. It was a large office, and the sun was shining brightly outside, but big heavy drapes were tied mostly shut and kept the light out. A single desk lamp, the kind with the rectangular green glass shade, lights the many open folders covering her desk: public records on soldiers and convicts, match histories from other companies, prospective future talent, legends of the art she has been contacting for single showings for future events. Talent managing is what Jessica Redd is good at. She doesn't like it. But she's good at it. As the final kiss of honey from her mug touches her lips, she knows it is time for work to begin. With a stifled yawn and a gracefully light touch of a button, the drapes automatically pull open, sunlight cascading in. She sifted her folders and papers together, stacked them neatly to the side, and lit an incense burner: cinnamon scented. She then took a deep breath, stood, adjusted her red dress, and slowly strode to her door. With a final touch of her fingers to her temple, she set herself, and opened her office. The CFO and Talent Manager of the 777 Championship Wrestling promotion was in, ready to listen to any of the talent who may need to get anything off their minds.

Outside the door stands K<3yla. Immediately outside the door. So close that her nose must have been almost touching Jessica's nameplate. In fact, is that a smudge on it? "Hey Miss Redd! I was hoping to talk to you today. I have some great ideas for the show that I want to share with you. I think we should do an Iron Man match between me and Brad "The Commander" Lockwood on the first episode instead of the Battle Royal. With his size, I bet I'm better at him at endurance and cardio so that can make up for the difference in upper body strength. And after I beat him I can face Truman in a submissions only match because that'd be really funny cuz he barely does any. And then I though we could do a triple threat on the third--"

Jessica Redd listened patiently as K<3yla prattled on, booking the next eleven episodes of Jackpot. Sitting back behind her desk, eventually K<3yla paused for a breath, allowing some order to finally come into play.
"I appreciate your interest in the future, as well as your interest in putting on spectacular matches that I am sure our audience would love. I have a few concerns that I'd like to mention before we go any further, though.
"Firstly, Jackpot will be a one-hour show to begin with. We have already contacted the DiY Network and worked out our timeslot for the next few episodes and there is no way to change that for the forseeable future. Secondly, an Iron Man match is an hour long match, not including ring entrances, introductions to the other talent on the roster that needs to be done for our audience, and explanations of the rules. It is strictly impossible to hold an Iron Man match on our Pilot episode.
"Third, an Iron Man match is a special spectacle, one that we do not want to give away freely. It is something that must be built to, and frankly, a handful of tweets is not enough to justify that kind of match.
"And fourth, the first few episodes of Jackpot have already been planned accordingly. We will be holding a Double Elimination Gold Rush tournament to crown our first 777 Heavyweight Champion, and award that person $1,000,000. I hope that we will see how you and Mr. Lockwood fair against each other in the Battle Royal, and I hope that we will see the two of your square off mano-e-WOmano in the tournament. That is exciting television. And that is what we are looking for.
"Would you like to speak of anything else? Water?"
Miss Jessica Redd gestures to a stainless steel refrigerator in her wall cabinets, if K<3yla wanted something to drink.

K<3yla stares at Jessica for a few seconds then blinks three times then shakes her head as if waking up. Oh! Okay. Right. Gotcha. That makes sense. If the show is an hour then you can't have an Iron Man match in it unless no one gets to say anything or play their music. I mean, you *could* do that. It's like - here's the show - BAM - we're already wrestling - and the live audience gets to see all the other stuff. Yeah, that's awesome. She starts to wander around the office, opens the fridge and practically climbs inside it looking for a drink as she continues to ramble. Let's do that. We could do it after the first pay per view since those episodes haven't been booked yet. Oooh! Make it a tradition! Every other pay per view is followed by an Iron Man. Iron Woman. Naw. That's dumb. Iron Person. Whatever. Do you really only have water in here? She pulls out of the fridge and comes back to reality when she catches Jessica's eye. Uhhhhh. Right. I mean. Nevermind.... Maybe we can have a match sometime where people hit each other with slot machines? Vegas, right? ...

" Both perfectly acceptable ideas that I will put into my ideas folder for the future. The best way to make things like that happen, Miss Kayla," Miss Redd wryly smiles, feeling confidant she will reel in the enthusiastic athlete, " The absolute best way is to make sure you win the Battle Royal and the Gold Rush tournament. That way you will get the cash to book a match that you'd like to see. Quentin ... yes." Miss Redd searched through her desk's file folder drawer and pulled out a single piece of paper, laying it text up on the desktop and sliding it towards K<3yla. " You see, if you wanted to book for yourself an Iron Woman match against Mr. Lockwood for the episode after the first PPv, that would cost you ... $7000 plus any additional fees based on destruction of property, roughing the referee, and other such things that tend to happen in higher profile matches. I'd say that that is not a particularly expensive expenditure to get what you want, wouldn't you?"

K<3yla accepted the paper from Jessica and stared at it intently as she replied. $7000. I need $7000. Okay. I've got to tell Brad "The Commander" Lockwood about this. I think he'll love it, too. Maybe I can teach him a few things since he's kind of new to wrestling. We should all get together and practice. I wonder where everybody is. I think I saw Truman in the barracks earlier. He seems nice. And Candy "Convicted" Thrasher and Jim "The Iron Horse" Steed were in the weight room last time I saw them. Where'd Miles "The Connection" Infinity go... I need to find them all so we can train together. No better way to improve your skills than locking up with another pro. She looks up from her reading and goes to shake Jessica's hand.
Thanks, Miss Redd. This is perfect. I'm glad you like my ideas. Don't worry. I'll be sure to come by every time I think of something that I think will help you!

"That is certainly fine. My door is open at pre-determined times, so feel free to show up only then, or make an appointment through email. I hope you enjoy the wonderful facilities we have built here for you and the rest of the talent to hone your skills."
As K<3yla leaves, Miss Jessica notes: "Leave the door open. Just in case someone else would like to meet."
