A brief character history: Son of El Tecnico II, older brother of El tecnico III, and Grandson of the classic El Tecnico, Derek Dos Santos has a lot to live up to. The problem is: Derek is a total coward. Being bullied most of his life, Derek has always been too scared to stand up for himself and fight back, much to the chagrin of his legendary family. Derek is considered such a coward and weakling that his father passed him over in favor of granting his younger brother, Miguel, the right to becoming El Tecnico III. When Miguel's neck is broken by a careless luchador, his father, El Tecnico II, thinks that the family lucha line is done for. Utilizing the years of lectures from his father and grandfather and the secret training for his younger brother, Derek Dos Santos steals the traditional mask of his family and becoming the newest El Tecnico. While wearing the mask, Derek feels the courage, strength, and ingenuity of his family flowing through him, allowing him to put his own fears aside and live up to the name of EL TECNICO IV.
