A brief character history:
From a well-off family, Cassidy was never content to rest on his parents' laurels, and founded his own successful business once he was of age.
He spent a majority of his young adult life becoming his own man and growing out of the shadow cast by his illustrious background, and was doing very well at it --until his father passed away.
Travelling back to grieve with his mother, he was regaled with wonderful stories about how his parents had met, fallen in love, and built their wonderful life together. It was then that he realized he had it all wrong: his parents' success wasn't about their money, or their assets, it was the true love that they were both able to experience every day together from having found their soul-mate. Cass needed to do some soul-searching.
Leaving his business in the hands of a trusted childhood friend, Cassidy began searching the world in search of the woman of his dreams. All the riches in the world meant nothing if he didn't have someone to lavish them upon.
Eventually, Nova arrived on the Las Vegas strip, having had a rather unsuccessful go of it thus far. Unfortunately, after about a week's time going up and down the strip, he found himself in a lowly bar, drinking his latest failures away. Then, he saw something that made him sick to his stomach. Some guy had one too many drinks and was treating his date with the utmost disrespect, and Nova would have none of it.
He laid him flat on his back in no time flat, and looked to the unconscious man's date and said: "Life's too short to waste with someone that doesn't love and appreciate you. Get out and find someone you truly love, and stop wasting your time with idiots like him."
As with many of the seedier places on the Vegas strip, a fight promoter happened to be in attendance, this one in particular being a talent manager for 777 Championship Wrestling named Meredith Geffen. Meredith was desperate to find her next fighter, looking for someone, ANYONE to bring to the ring; and she may have just found her next meal-ticket.
She had never seen someone move as fluidly as Cassidy Nova, nor anyone with such an untapped passion. Meredith knew that she had to sign him right away, but Nova wasn't interested. After some pushing and prodding, she learned of his quest and, thinking quickly, told him that the 777's ring would be the perfect place for him to find the love of his life. Naturally, Cassidy was curious.
Meredith explained that he'd never get ahead playing the "new guy in town with a too-large bank account and his heart on his sleeve" if he wanted to find true love. However, if he could make a big enough name for himself in the 777, he might be able to gain the attention of the FUTURE Mrs. Nova, and his search would be over! And if Meredith made a fair commission off the whole deal, that surely wouldn't be too bad, either. (Double commission for being a talent manager AND matchmaker, sound fair?

And with that Cassidy Nova entered the doors of 777 Championship Wrestling, walked right up to Mr. Ohmega's desk and signed all the necessary paperwork. Come hell or high water, Nova would have a belt on his waist, and a ring on 1 lovely ladies finger.
